My first skibike I built over 30 years ago!

My converted Trek Diesel DH bike. I machined and welded the entire conversion kit myself.

Been riding for about 8 years.

There are only two other ski bikers out here that I know of.

I'm located in upstate NY and have managed to gain access to ride at mountains in Vermont, Mass, and New Hampshire.

I race BMX during the summer so ski biking was the logical choice in a winter sport for me.

I hope eventually ski biking becomes as popular here in the northeast as it is out west!

Dave Eakin, Durango Colorado, December 2007

I ride a custom skibike with "outlaw" mounts and élan skis. With teenage boys on snowboards, I need an edge to stay up with them.  I can keep up with them now run for run on blues and some blacks.

I put my skis away several years ago and never looked back!

I love adaptive skibiking! Low impact, safe and easy on the knees, etc.

Favorite rides include Lenzsport Alpine Brawler, Crighton 28ST with upgraded boards
(similar to the Metalworx S28 Snowmoto) for powder, and also my downhill bike
adapted to SkiBike using Alpine SkiBike adapter kit.

Current favorite resort for adaptive skibiking is AZ Snowbowl, in Flagstaff, AZ
which allows adaptive skibike riders to take a lesson, then be approved to ride
unescorted throughout the park.

Plan to check out as many SkiBike friendly resorts and American Skibike Association events as possible.

See you on the slopes!
